Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about ordering, delivery, returns and our products. Can't find what you need? Email info@nailogy.co.uk.
Ordering
Is there a minimum order?
No. We welcome orders of all sizes, with no minimum order value.
Do I need an account to order?
No, you can check out as a guest. Creating an account lets you see your order history and check out faster next time.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Email info@nailogy.co.uk as soon as possible with your order number. We can change or cancel an order before it has been dispatched. Once dispatched, you can still cancel most orders under your 14-day cancellation rights – see Refunds & Returns.
Can I change my delivery address?
Please check your address before paying. We can only change it before your order is dispatched, so contact us straight away if you spot a mistake.
What if an item is out of stock?
Pre-order and back-in-stock items ship when stock arrives, and mixed baskets ship together once every item is ready unless we tell you otherwise. If something you ordered becomes unavailable, we may suggest an alternative, but we'll only substitute with your agreement.
Why was my order cancelled?
We may cancel an order for legitimate reasons such as stock unavailability, a pricing error, a payment issue or suspected fraud. If you've already paid, you'll receive a full refund to your original payment method.
Delivery
Where do you deliver?
We deliver to UK addresses only: mainland UK, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isles of Scilly and the Channel Islands. We can also deliver to BFPO addresses and parcel lockers where the carrier allows.
We don't ship internationally, because many gels, primers and salon liquids are classed as flammable or dangerous goods, which carriers restrict on international and air routes.
How much does delivery cost?
- Standard (Royal Mail Tracked 48): £3.99, 2–3 working days after dispatch
- Express (Royal Mail Tracked 24): £7.99, 1–2 working days after dispatch
- Free standard delivery on orders over £150 (after discounts)
The delivery cost is always shown at checkout before you pay.
When will my order be dispatched?
Orders are dispatched within 3–5 working days of payment. Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays. Orders placed after 2pm, at weekends or on bank holidays are processed from the next working day.
How long will delivery take?
Delivery times start from dispatch: 2–3 working days for Standard and 1–2 working days for Express. Highlands and islands addresses may take 1–2 extra days.
Is delivery slower at busy times?
During sales, launches and the Christmas period, processing can take up to 2 extra working days. We publish last order dates for Christmas each December.
Are all orders tracked?
Yes. You'll get an email with a tracking link as soon as your parcel leaves us. If you haven't received it within 5 working days, check your spam folder, then contact us.
Will large items like lamps and drills arrive separately?
They may. Large or heavy equipment such as nail lamps, drills and dust collectors can ship by courier as a separate parcel, at no extra charge.
Will I pay import charges?
Not for mainland UK or Northern Ireland. Orders to the Channel Islands may face local import charges.
My parcel hasn't arrived. What should I do?
If tracking hasn't moved for 5 working days, tell us and we'll open a claim with the carrier. If your parcel hasn't arrived 10 working days after dispatch, contact us; once the carrier confirms it's lost, we'll send a replacement or a full refund.
Tracking says delivered but I don't have it.
Please check with neighbours and your chosen safe place first, then contact us within 7 days so we can investigate with the carrier.
Returns, refunds and problems
Can I return an item?
Yes. You can cancel most online purchases within 14 days of receiving them, without giving a reason. Email info@nailogy.co.uk first and we'll send you the return address and instructions. Then return the items within a further 14 days, in their original packaging where possible.
Are there items I can't return?
For hygiene and health protection reasons, sealed products such as gels and liquids can't be returned for a change of mind once they've been unsealed, where the legal exception applies. This never affects your rights if a product is faulty, damaged or not as described.
Who pays for return postage?
For change-of-mind returns, you pay the cost of sending the item back. If the item is faulty, damaged or we sent the wrong product, we'll cover reasonable return costs. We recommend a tracked service and keeping proof of postage.
When will I get my refund?
We refund within 14 days of receiving the returned goods (or proof that you've sent them back, if earlier), to your original payment method. Your bank may take a few extra days to show the funds.
Is the delivery charge refunded?
For a valid cancellation, we refund the original standard delivery charge. Extra charges for Express delivery above the standard rate aren't refunded. If an item was faulty, damaged or sent in error, delivery charges are refunded.
My order arrived damaged or leaking.
Please email us a photo within 48 hours of delivery and keep the packaging. We'll replace or refund the item. Please don't use a leaking product.
An item is missing or wrong.
Tell us within 14 days and we'll send what's missing or correct at no cost to you.
Can I exchange a product for a different shade or size?
Contact us to discuss the options. Voluntary exchanges depend on the product being eligible for return and on stock availability.
Products
Are your products for professionals?
Many of our products are professional nail materials intended for trained nail technicians. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety warnings, and make sure you're trained to use professional products safely.
Do I need a UV/LED lamp?
Yes, gels need a UV/LED nail lamp to cure. Each product page gives the curing time. DARK recommends using original DARK lamps with DARK materials for the best results. Browse our UV/LED nail lamps.
How long does DARK gel polish last?
Applied over a good base and sealed with a top coat, DARK gel polish keeps its colour for up to 4 weeks. Most shades cover in 1–2 coats. See the DARK gel polish collection.
Which base should I use under gel polish?
On natural nails, start with a thin layer of a medium-acid base (such as DARK Iconic Base) for adhesion. Then level and strengthen with a rubber or camouflage base, such as DARK Pro Base or Patrisa Nail rubber base. Browse base and top coats.
What's the difference between a rubber base and a cover base?
A rubber base is a flexible, usually clear base used to level and strengthen the nail under colour. A cover (camouflage) base does the same but has a natural tint, so it can be worn on its own or give a more even look under gel polish.
What is builder gel in a bottle?
Builder gel in a bottle (often called BIAB-style gel) is a brush-on hard gel used to strengthen natural nails, add a little length and repair breaks. Our DARK Smart Builder Gel leaves no sticky layer. See builder gel in a bottle.
Do I need to wipe the top coat?
It depends on the top coat. No-wipe top coats, such as DARK Iconic Top, have no sticky layer. Some matte tops, such as DARK Matte Top, have a sticky layer. Each product page says which type it is.
How do I remove rubber base?
Patrisa Nail rubber base can be removed with a fine e-file bit, or soaked off in an acetone-based remover for about 15 minutes.
Which e-file bit should I choose?
Diamond bits are used for cuticle work and the natural nail; red is soft (gentle) and blue is medium. Carbide bits are used for removing gel and correcting extensions. Each product page lists what the bit is for. See instruments and e-file bits.
Can I sterilise your instruments and bits?
Yes. Our STALEKS EXPERT bits and instruments are corrosion resistant and can go through all types of sterilisation and disinfection. We also stock sterilisation pouches.
I have allergies. Can I use these products?
Some nail products can cause allergic reactions. Don't use a product if you're allergic or intolerant to any of its ingredients, and consult a doctor if in doubt. Ingredients are on the label and we can share the full list on request before you buy.
Will the colour look exactly like the photo?
We photograph products as accurately as we can, but colours can look slightly different depending on your screen and lighting.
Are DARK products tested on animals?
No. DARK products are not tested on animals. They hold European and Ukrainian quality certificates and are registered in the EU CPNP system.
